Free Schools

The first primary free schools in the UK at ARK Conway and Eden Primary, both in London, were designed by Hunters South Architects, with Eden Primary winning plaudits as one of the best value schemes developed under the EFA framework. Other examples include Rutherford House in Balham which is a conversion of an unused magistrates court building.

Large Multi-Storey Primary Schools

A shortage of places at primary schools has led us to designing schools of increased capacity and on challenging sites, up to three storeys in height and 4FE in size. Examples include Wordsworth Primary in Southampton and Oasis Shirley Park and Harris Haling Park in London.

Eden Primary

The engagement process, alongside our site analysis, identified a number of key concepts including ecology, access to nature and a family style of learning (or Reggio Emilia).
