The design for the new school building and associated external works has been developed through a rigorous design process of analysis and response to influences of the site, setting, and environmental factors, with the aim of creating a learning environment which is appropriate for purpose, inspirational and adaptable for future provision. The building layout is based upon current educational standards, now advocated by national government policies, including the department for education. The initial concept design has been customized to suit the school’s requirements and the local context.
